HERBAL CURE FOR DIABETES

WAYS TO TREAT DIABETES WITH HERBAL LEAVES

Diabetes is one the commonest disease in our society today.it used to be regarded as a disease of the rich and affluent. But now, it affect even the poor, no thanks to modern civilization and urbanization.
But what is Diabetes?
It is a metabolic disorder caused either by a deficiency of the digestive hormone called insulin or the inability of the body cells to use available insulin. In talking about diabetes, there is one organ in the body, which requires attention. The organ is the pancreas.
WHAT IS PANCREAS?
The pancreas is an organ that excretes hormone insulin and pancreatic fluid, which contains enzymes involved in digestion of fats and proteins in the small intestine.
The pancreas , which is shaped like a human tongue, lies below and behind the stomach and in- between the kidneys it weights about 100gms, and is amide of small units called lobules. Each lobule consist s of two groups of cells, the exocrine and the endocrine.
The endocrine group of cells, the exocrine and the endocrine.
The endocrine group of cells is called an "islet of Langerhans".
The beta cells of the islets produce glycogen, a hormone which does the reserve of what insulin does, that is. causes a breakdown of glycogen into glucose, thus raising up the sugar level, and preventing it from falling too low.

KINDS OF DIABETES
The term "Diabetes" as used in this work refers to "diabetes Mellitus". There is another kind of diabetes called "Diabetes insipid us" a condition of polyuria and polydipsia due to a deficiency of anti-diuretic hormone (ADH).This kind of diabetes is less common among Nigerians and so will not be considered. It deserve a separate treatment.
When therefore we speak of kind of diabetes, we refers to the two kinds of diabetes mellitus, which are:
A.JUVENILE DIABETES, also called insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM is common in children and young adults. This condition characterized by a deficiency of insulin the body. Thanks to modern medicine, this insulin can be artificially injected into the body.
B.Maturity Onset Diabetes; also referred to as non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM).which is common in middle aged people. In this condition , there is insulin in the body cannot make use of the available insulin

CAUSES OF DIABETES:
1.HEREDITY:
It is believed that heredity plays a part in the spread of diabetes. However, there is no explanation of how exactly this happens. While it is true to say that diabetes tends to run in families, it does not imply that everyone born into such families will develop the disease. Nor does it imply that those who do not belong to such families will never get the illness.
It is good to note that in families where diabetes tends to run, the members will have a tendency to the illness, but they may not develop the disease if proper precaution is taken.some scholars have maintained that what is inherited is not the disease, but lack of the chromosome that will resit the illness.
2.OVERWEIGHT:
It is said that 60 to 90 percent of diabetics are over weight. High intake of protein and heavy calorie food will lead to over weight.Overweight occurs when there is no balance between the intake of food and the digestion and utility of this food. As a result, extra calories, the liver, kidney and pancreas have to do extra work. This overwork eventually leads to a breakdown of these vital organs.
3.LIFESTYLE:
It has been said over and over again that wrong lifestyle is one of the major causes of diseases in general. But how many people are ready to listen?
Even as food can nourish life, so can it also destroy life. When a mother feeds her baby with plenty of coca-cola drinks, sugar ice creams biscuits, chocolate and other refined foods, she thinks she is "civilized" and making her child "civilized", not knowing that she is destroying the life of her baby.
When a man drinks beer and drinks expensive wines, eats plenty of red meat, drinks coffee with plenty of sugar, he says to himself: "I am enjoying life", not knowing he is eating himself to death.
It therefore important to learn the art of proper food combination if we want stay healty.
4.WRONG MEDICATION:
Self- medication has become the order of the day.Hospital bills are hardly affordable. people would rather go to chemists and get whatever drugs they want, than go to see a doctor. The wrong use of drugs, as well as long term use of some drugs, can damage the pancreas. Chemical drugs are dangerous and so should be taken with care. one should avoid them if it is possible. Of what use is chloramphenicol if it cures your typhoid but destroys your sight or hearing? Those who constantly take drugs, arthritis drugs, and contraceptive pills are in danger of damaging their pancreas.

SYMPTOMS OF DIABETES
If you do not have the illness called diabetes, then be happy. And be sure you do all you can to prevent it, for prevention is better than cure. At the earliest stage, diabetes are many and varied. At the earliest stage, diabetes does not show any symptom. In many cases, the disease is diagnosed accidentally when undergoing check-up for other complaints.
THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME OF THE SYMPTOMS OF DIABETES:
1.POLY UREA:This means excessive urination. This constant urination is the commonest sign of diabetes.Because of the high level of sugar present in the urea, it tastes very sugary. If you find yourself urinating very frequently, check if your urine is sugary. Do this by tasting the urea. if it is sugary, then watch out. This may not be enough proof that you have diabetes, but it may be an indication.
2.POLYPHAGIA:This refers to the excessive hunger often experienced by diabetics. This abnormal hunger is only a reaction of the body so the lack of glucose, thus starving the body cells. The patient is tempted to eat more and more. And yet, the more food the more the glucose level rises. And the more body weight increases.
3.POLYDIPSIA:Because of the high quantity of fluids lost through urine, the body experiences dryness of mouth and excessive thirst. The patient has an intense craving for water and yet is never satisfied.
4.LOSS OF WEIGHT:Because the cells are starved of glucose the body begins to make use of stored fats so as to nourish the cells. When this continues for a prolonged period of time, the patient begins to lose weight.
5.WEAKNESS AND TIREDNESS:It is not only the fats that are used. the body also feeds on the proteins in the body, leading to general weakness and tiredness.
6.ITCHING:Persistent itching all over the body, especially in the genital parts is a symptom of diabetes. This is true especially of women. if a woman persistently experiences itching in her vagina, a medical check-up is advisable.

DIET FOR DIABETICS
Food is medicine. Food is the most natural medicine on earth. One cannot talk about diabetes without calling about food, about dietary habits. While food is a major factor in illness, this is especially true in the case of diabetes.
Any treatment of diabetes should begin with proper food combination. It is good to note that drugs do not cure any illness.Drugs only help to strengthen the immune system and aid the system in fighting against illnesses.
So many people come to me and say, "Father,I have diabetes, give me medicine to cure it", My first question is always; "What do you eat; how do you eat"? And the answer is nearly always the same: "My doctor told me to eat plenty of meat, beans plantain and avoid yam, cassava, honey, fruits and sugar. "How many times do you eat in day?" "At times twice, and at times thrice" They would respond.
As a diabetic, it is not good for you to eat only twice or thrice daily, for such meal even once a ay, your sugar level will rise because there is insufficient insulin in the body to metabolize the food. The secret is to eat a little as often as you wish.
In other words, eat five or six times daily, but just little at a time. Failure to observe this simple rule hs sent many diabetics to grave .Despite all the complicated and expressive medications, they did not get better.
Our food consists of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, vitamins and minerals. To be healthy, we need to maintain a balance of these nutrients in our diet. Carbohydrates include sugar, starch, cassava, yam, rice, etc. Protein is found in meat, fish, eggs, milk, beans, etc saturated fats are found in butter, coconut oil, palm oil, fish, meat, and eggs. This kind of fat is dangerous for the system and can lead to heart disease. unsaturated fats which is derived from groundnut oil and Castor oil, are healthier vitamins and minerals come mainly from fruits and vegetables. keep in mind that these fruits and vegetable are best when taken in their natural state. Raw vegetables are more nourishing than cooked ones. So often, I hear diabetics say that they have been told to abstain from eating fruits like pawpaw, pineapple, banana and oranges as well as natural juices like honey. But honey is good for the body. what is not good for the body is diluted or mixed honey. The sugar in honey is pre digested and cannot be compared to the artificial, refined honey sold in the market. The sugar in honey is only 7%, even though it has a very sugary taste.
And if diabetics do not eat fruits, how can they survive? what are bad is not the fruits itself, but the manner of eating it. Do not combine fruits with any other food. if you want to eat banana, please take a little at a time and do not combine it with any other food.if you want to eat green vegetables, please do.But do not combine it with pineapple. The secret is to eat a little at a time.
Eat plenty of onions, carrots, garlic and ginger. As much as possible, eat your green vegetables in their natural are very good for the body.so often, people squeeze out the bitterness from the bitter leaf before cooking, thereby rendering the leaves useless. The bitterness is what actually makes the bitter leaf medicinal.
Okro is very good for diabetics. learn to eat your plantain or beans with okro soup.

HERBAL TREATMENT FOR DIABETES.
In treating diabetes with herbs, the aims are:
-to repair the pancreas
-strengthen the kidney
-eradicate the symptoms
-prevent sugar or glucose from escaping in the urine
-help the body to find its natural balance

POINTS TO NOTE
The following points should be kept in mind when treating diabetes with herbs:
A.Juvenile diabetes or insulin dependent diabetes is more difficult to cure than non-insulin dependent diabetes.
B.Those who develop maturity onset diabetes at the age of fifty or above respond more quickly to herbal treatment than those who develop the disease at age thirty or forty.
C.It is not recommended that insulin-dependent diabetics stop injecting themselves as soon as they begin herbal treatment. They will need to combine both medications for two weeks after which they will then reduce they inject to half its usual volume while they still continue with the herbs. it is only after four weeks that they can leave aside the insulin injection but only on the condition that they check their urine and blood from time to time, so as to monitor their sugar levels. consult a competent herbal scientist.
